The United National Population Fund (UNFPA) has launched a campaign to teach young people around the world about #COVID19 and what they can do to keep their friends, families, and communities safe.

Young people around the world are working together to protect themselves and their families from COVID-19, to support their communities, and prevent the spread of the outbreak. This is the time for everyone to take action!

You can do many things to keep your community safe, including staying informed, fighting misinformation, doing your part to flatten the curve, and most importantly – letting your friends know what they can do, too.

The video series features young people from around the world sharing how COVID-19 affects them and others they care about, how to deal with sexual and mental health and all the things we can do to help.

Watch Episode 1 below and get started:

The UNFPA invite you to recreate these videos and share them far and wide amongst your own networks.

The Award family have also been busy making their own videos to help spread the word.

Have you or anyone you know been struggling to manage your mental health as a result of the pandemic?

At times like these we could all do with a few tips on how to keep going.

Watch this video by Michaela Musilova, astrobiologist and marsonaut and also Emerging Leader representative for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – EMAS Region. Michaela has done her video in Slovak, so feel free to create your own video in your own native language.

Another of our Emerging Leaders, Tharindra Arumapperuma, from Sri Lanka, has also had a go at recreating episode one. Listen to her advice on how to stop the spread of the virus by sharing the correct information below:

And it’s not just the Award family jumping on board. Other organisations including War Child, the International Federation of Medical Students Association and Youth Coalition are also sharing their homemade videos, to name just a few.

Why not have a go at making your own and then call on your friends to do the same?

There are lots of episodes on different topics, so you choose to discuss a topic that is important to you.
