Award Level:
Gold
Favourite memory of the Award:
For my silver voluntary service I helped to coach a young local boys soccer team. Seeing the team execute what we had practised in training during games, and being involved in the excitement whenever we scored or won a game was always so enjoyable and exciting. You couldn't help but smile!
Age:
17
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
Having to balance so many different activities and sports with schoolwork has been a challenging part of the award. However I have progressed through bonze, silver, and am now completing my gold award, and have gained much experience in time management and organisation along the way. Whilst it has been a big commitment, it has been worthwhile in so many ways having learnt how to manage my time and having made new friends and amazing memories.
Country:
Australia
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
I continue to keep up physical activity, running and playing soccer every week. I've also made some great friends through my soccer team and continue to catch up with them when I can outside of soccer training.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
My sister and I did a coastal hike along the Great Ocean rd in Victoria for our Silver adventurous journey. Over the course of 3 days we walked about 60km. We did get a little lost and found ourselves on a tiny track through lots of scrub! However overall it was a great learning experience and I feel I gained much more confidence and independence in planning and travelling alone, as well of course as getting to see some beautiful sights along the way.
