Favourite memory of the Award:
It’s hard to pick a single favourite memory! With much thought, I would have to choose the Award Ceremony, where we (Bronze participants of 2021-2022) received our Bronze awards. It was a very special moment, with family and friends witnessing the achievement and the work that went into it, especially since we did a presentation recapping our time working on the Adventurous Journey together, which brought back fond memories.

16
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
My biggest challenge of the Award was learning to work with other participants with a range of different personalities and abilities. I think working on the Adventurous Journeys helped me to identify what each person brings to a team, to appreciate the efforts and talents of every member and to manage differences in more mature ways. The forming, norming, storming and performing stages of teamwork that we learnt and experienced helped us to celebrate our differences. Today, I can safely say that through this experience, we have built a stronger friendship bond.

Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
In fact, I have continued all of my Award activities! After completing the Bronze, I moved on to the Silver Level and although I have different goals and am working on other activities now in the Skills and Physical sections, I still use the skills and physical activity I embarked on for the Bronze and have continued my Bronze Voluntary Service activity in the Silver level as I thoroughly enjoy it.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
For the Skills section of the Silver Award, I chose to improve my violin skills. While doing so midway, I had the chance to perform Bach’s Air in a church, accompanied by this majestic organ. The unique sound of the violin and organ filling the old building gave a breath-taking, magical tone that rose to the high ceilings. I do look forward to achieving my Skills goal and playing the much-awaited Mendelssohn violin concerto in E minor that I have been practising!
