Award Level:
Bronze
Favourite memory of the Award:
My favourite memory of the Award is definitely going on my Bronze Adventurous Journey! It was a challenge, but it was super fun and I really loved it. It was a really great experience, and I learned a lot from it. Seeing some glow worms was a cool bonus too. Laying in my tent, I thought about how fun the day had been, and about how I was going to have another fun one tomorrow.
Age:
14
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
While it is my favourite memory of the Award, tramping for 5 hours with a huge pack on my back was definitely a big challenge for me. It pushed me physically and mentally, and I am really proud of what I achieved. Towards the end, I was really hungry and tired, but it was all so worth it when I was at the campsite, making my dinner in the bush with my friends.
Country:
New Zealand
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
Yes, I have continued my volunteer work of trapping predators around my community because I really enjoy it, and I think it's really important to protect New Zealand's birds and wildlife.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
My photo is of me and my group on our Bronze Adventurous Journey. This was taken on our second day, on the way home, so we are all very eager to walk fast so that we get home quicker. The photo shows the beautiful scenery that was all around us as well as the nice sunny day that we were lucky enough to have on our walk out.
