Favourite memory of the Award:
My favorite memory during this journey was when we qualified for the finals. I still remember the immense joy and pride our team felt when our hard work finally payed off. In the semi finals, our team played a best of 5 match where we won 3-2. Our opponents were really tough and near the end our team was barely pulling through, however our captain encouraged us and we gathered all our remaining energy and played on. After a gruesome 2 hours of perseverance we had a break through and we won the final set. We moved on to the finals. This was a huge moment for me especially because, I had never before participated in a team sport before. Let alone qualify for the finals. I was miles away from my starting line and I have grown mentally and physically.

Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
The biggest challenge for me was socializing and working as a team with my friends. They were all much older than me and were more experienced in volleyball and other walks of life. In a way I felt out of place around them and felt inferior to them since they were much, much better than me. Despite this, I tried to establish my presence among them. They accepted me with open arms and helped me nurture my growing passion for volleyball. I was able to come out of my shell gradually and learn from them. They became more like elder sisters to me. Due to their influence I have noticed myself being more confident in not only volleyball but other areas of my life and in general as well.

I am still continuing volleyball and plan to as long as I am able.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
When I joined the local volleyball club (J.V.T.C.), I was an anti-social and awkward girl. Once I started training with new people and meeting then daily, I started to become more outgoing and I made many new friends. We always helped each other out and always had a good time. We became a team and with this team, we won second place in the annual festive volleyball competition during our auspicious festival Dashain. I learned to work as a team, as well as play my part as an individual and I had tons of fun.
