Nishta Naicker
Award Level:
Bronze
Favourite memory of the Award:
Camping under the stars with some of my best friends. Even though the Adventerous Journey was my biggest challenge, there was a silver lining. I was so lucky to have my best friends by my side on this journey because it wouldn't have been the same without them. The conversations and the fun that we had was incredible.
Age:
14
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
The Adventurous Journey. I feel like I was not prepared enough. The terrain was challenging to tread on, as I was not use to the steep uphills and downhills.
Country:
South Africa
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
Yes, dance and piano lessons. I have such a passion for music and when I started these lessons for president's award, I realised that I really enjoy it and want to continue learning.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
A few moments before this photo was taken, our hike leader told us he had a surprise. After a few minutes of confusion and walking down a steep incline, we reached the bottom and couldn't believe the beauty we were looking at. We stopped to have lunch at the bottom of this beutiful waterfall and take a few pictures together for memories. We spent about 10 minutes just staring at it and another 10 minutes splashing about in the pool at the bottom and climbing rocks.
