His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh KG, KT, GCVO is the youngest child of The Queen and Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh and a full-time working member of the Royal Family. He supports The King in His Majesty’s official duties – often alongside his wife The Duchess of Edinburgh - as well as undertaking public engagements for a large number of his own charities.

The Duke supports a range of charities and organisations, spanning the arts, sport and non-formal education and learning. His Royal Highness is especially passionate about organisations and causes which provide opportunities to young people. His work has a particular focus on the development of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award and The International Award.

The Duke is Chair of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation and previously chaired the International Council for 17 years. He is Patron of both the International Award and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award – United Kingdom. The Duke is also a Gold Award holder.
