John May is awarded an OBE for services to young people
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Foundation’s Secretary General, John May, has been honoured as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his Services to Young People.
John has spent his life a campaigner, storyteller, teacher, youth worker, independent diplomat, writer, broadcaster and lifelong Scout. He’s spent his career working with and for young people in the United Kingdom and around the world.
His work with senior leaders from business, government, education and civil society aims to improve the opportunities and aspirations of the next generation.
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service. It was first established by King George V in 1917.
