A Global Celebration

Choosing what you want to do…sticking with it…shaping your life…eating carrier pigeons…

Yes, all this and more featured in our Global Celebration of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award on 10 June.

Bringing together the entire Award family from around the world for the first time, over 1000 people watched the event online on what would have been our Founder’s 100th birthday.

The celebration marked the extraordinary life of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh KG, KTA and champion of infinite potential.

Hosted by UK TV Presenter Rhys Stephenson, the event put HRH, Prince Edward, Chairman of the International Award, in the hot seat, facing questions from a panel of young people. Through games, films and a moving performance of ‘The World in Union’ by Award participants from various countries who formed a global choir especially for the event, the celebration captured the joy and pride felt by millions of people who have been involved in the Award since it started nearly 70 years ago.

And young people in Indonesia, kicked off the Award’s first ever mass participation Challenge100! Our exciting challenge event to mark the life and legacy of the Duke of Edinburgh. Challenge yourself, your friends and your family and raise vital funds, so more young people have the chance to discover their infinite potential.

Your challenge, your way.

Don’t forget to sign up to Challenge100 and help raise vital funds and awareness for the Award around the world. Find out more here.
