Unstoppable Together – Global Youth Mobilization Final Report Launch and Celebration Virtual Events

In February 2023, the Global Youth Mobilization (GYM) will be celebrating 2 years of youth-led global action and will launch its final impact report, highlighting its reach and investment in young people globally since its start in December 2020.

Hosted by the Big Six youth organizations, supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Foundation (UNF), the GYM will launch its final impact report looking back at the initiative’s youth-led COVID-19 response and recovery during the main virtual event on 15 February 2023. The final impact report will serve as a follow up to the GYM interim impact report, “Powering Change: Young People Leading COVID-19 Response and Recovery”, launched in February 2022, which highlighted the first operational partnership of the Big Six and opportunities for global youth development.

The main virtual event on 15 February 2023 will showcase the impact of youth-led solutions, reflect on the Big Six and wider partnership model, and discuss lessons learned to inform global youth financing models.

The main virtual event will be followed by a youth-led solutions project showcase, sharing insights from the young people leading activities addressing the negative effects of the pandemic from National Projects, Local Solutions and the Accelerator Programme across the four thematic areas:

  • COVID-19 Prevention, Vaccines and Combatting Misinformation
  • Mental and Physical Health
  • Education Disruption and Employability
  • Gender Inequality and Combatting Domestic and Gender-Based Violence

On 11 February 2023, in the lead up to the main and project showcase virtual events, the young people that drive the GYM will host a youth-led roundtable discussion, to share experiences, discuss the importance of youth-led advocacy, amplify youth voices, and provide an opportunity to enable connections across the 500+ young people directly awarded and engaged through the GYM.

About the Global Youth Mobilization

The Global Youth Mobilization (GYM), launched in December 2020, is a movement of young people taking action to improve their lives and their communities now and for future generations.

Powered by the Big Six – the world’s largest global youth organisations – and supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Foundation (UNF), GYM aims to harness this momentum to address the negative impact of the pandemic on young people and support them to build back better.

With support from the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, Global Youth Mobilization is supporting and scaling-up youth-led solutions, reinventing funding models and re-energising youth engagement programmes across the world.
