Briton Njama Mwanzangu
Award Level:
Bronze,Silver,Gold
Favourite memory of the Award:
One of my best memory was the first day I managed to talk and address a large crowd during the orientation meeting of the first years in my institution. I wasn't sure if I would have managed to do that. Before my speech time I was very nervous and I was about to give up, But since giving up is not a word in my vocabulary I had to try and give it my level best. I was happy to hear some positive comments from some of the participants and also my award leader who was in that meeting and that is when I knew courage starts from within and when one believe in themselves.
Age:
22
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
One of the challenge that I have faced is while doing teamwork activities. It reaches a time when everyone has their own opinion which they all feel that it is true which at times may not be but end up going with the wrong opinion then regretting why you went for that option. This has taught me not to make rush decision in a situation where there are closely related alternatives.
Country:
Kenya
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
Yeah sure. I just love volounteering in doing something that I can do which was impacted by the residential projects and voluntary services that I used to do
Tell us the story behind your photo:
This was back then during one of our residential project when we were having our breakfast then on of us suggested to take us a photo on that enriched green background. It was all smiles on our faces since we were happy that about some students from that particular school that we were doing the award that they will now do their studies in a class and achieve their dreams.
