Erick Dumusi
Award Level:
Gold
Favourite memory of the Award:
My favorite memory of the Award was during my community service/residential project where together with other participants we went to a remote place in my country and built a school.
Age:
26
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
My biggest challenge from doing the Award would be attributed to low motivation since I did the Award as an open Awardee. Since the Award wasn't in my high school, I got to do the Award after school and there was lack of motivation while doing it alone, unlike some of my friends who enjoyed the company of others.
Country:
Kenya
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
Yes I have continued my activities. My skill section of playing the saxophone is probably my main activity and through this, I get to earn a living as well as enjoy entertaining people. I also go for hiking, something I enjoyed while doing the Award.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
My photo shows me doing one of the best things I get to do in life, which is playing the saxophone. On this particular picture, I was performing at an event playing the saxophone. I also got probably my biggest event which was to perform for Prince Edward when he visited my country Kenya in two consecutive days. I started playing the saxophone during my Skill section while doing the Award.
