Favourite memory of the Award:
Memories from expeditions. They were also challenging for me for sure. I was not that kind of outdoor person at that time. So there were all truly out of my comfort zone but totally worth it. I had a chance to get to know myself better and learn how to take responsibility. I am genuinely grateful for all moments we were lost or tired but at the end completely satisfied to finish.

Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
Yes, I continue with languages and volunteering (career counseling from Gold level. Actually it ended up to become my passion and turned into a job opportunity).

NON-FORMAL EDUCATION FORUM: I still remember how I heard about the Duke of Edinburgh´s International Award (DofE) for the first time about five years ago. It happened after I came back from volunteering in the UK thanks to the YMCA during my first year of bachelor's study. I was afraid of meeting new people and talking to them. To even think that some dreams I have may ever come true. And here I am. Five years later, having a speech in front of inspirational people talking about my journey, the power of non-formal education and all skills and abilities I have acquired since I started the program. I have found the answer for - What do you want to do when you grow up? I have learned the importance of reflecting and making mistakes. Somebody may say that he has got these essentialities during high school study. Well, I needed more time. But DofE is about it, that everybody has his own pace. Has different inner motives, perceptions of what kind of goal is big enough to achieve, and it is all OK. The photo was taken during the event by a professional photographer.
