Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
I have continued with the physical activities I worked on during all levels of the Award, especially in triathlon, and am currently in my universities triathlon club. I have also continued with my volunteering at the foodbank I started with back in 2018, and plan on continuing to volunteer there as long as I live in the community!
Tell us the story behind your photo:
While completing the Silver level of the Award I fractured both of my shins and ended up in a wheelchair for 2 months. After a slow recovery, I wanted to prove to myself that I could regain my physical strength and so for my Gold Award I set the goal of doing both a sprint distance and Olympic distance triathlon. However, towards the end of completing my Gold level, I fractured one shin again. This did delay my Award completion, but I did not give up or let my injury stop my training plan and with support from my assessors, award leader, friends, and family, we discovered ways to train that worked for me. 3 months later I crossed the finish line with my family cheering me on!
