Favourite memory of the Award:
My favorite memory of the Award so far was our practice journey from a few weeks ago. We camped near Golden Ears Park, and it was by far the most fun trip I've been on in years.
Age:
15
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
My biggest challenge from doing the Award was during my Bronze qualifying journey. My group went at the end of August in 2021, when it hadn't stopped raining for at least a week, it felt like. Nevertheless, the trip was planned and we went anyways. We struggled through the pouring rain all trip as it was not like how we anticipated. In the end, we still managed to return safely while meeting all of the qualifying journey requirements.
Country:
Canada
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
I have continued all of my Award activities. Basketball for physical activity, playing guitar for skills and volunteering for the ripple effect, a youth-led organization, for my volunteering. I plan on continuing these activities for the rest of my high school journey and hopefully even further down the road.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
After a drizzly first night, where the rain ruined everything we had planned, it luckily stopped raining. We resumed our purposeful expedition, hiking, which would take us to the highest peak at Golden Ears Park. Not even 20 minutes into the hike, the scenery was absolutely wonderful. Too amazing not to snap a few photos with my camera. Pictured is my three friends whom I went with for my Silver practice journey.
