Award Level:
Bronze
Favourite memory of the Award:
The first time I went to teach English was the scariest time of my life because I wasn't able to practice before standing in front of a kid that I didn’t know and teach them what I learned for the past 15 years. But I did well and all the children that I taught loved me and understood all the lessons I gave. This gave me confidence in my personality - I couldn’t believe I could do this.
Age:
15
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
I had many challenges in the skills section. I practiced the Zither instrument three times a week. It was super hard to make my schedule and prepare it without any help and a lot of training was required.
Also, I had no self confidence teaching younger kids, but I overcame that problem from the second session of teaching the kids.
Country:
Egypt
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
I will continue most of the activities that I’m doing, like the zither so much as a musical instrument, so i would like to complete learning it.
Also basketball - the fitness made me lose weight and gain more energy and make me more excited to complete it as a hobby
Tell us the story behind your photo:
I have never thought that I would have so much fun in this Award - it really changed a lot in my personality and in my way of thinking. The photo that I took was at the basketball training when my coach was telling us train to shoot, me and my friend. Then he was photographing us, my friend was playing and she got in the photo and the photo was super funny we all laughed and I didn’t erase the photo because I think its a good memory to keep it with me. Also, to complete the story, my friend asked if I could photograph them too.
