Favourite memory of the Award:
I love spending time with all my friends during the expeditions. It made me realize how important this award is and how it helped me grow with trying new skills and being more involved in my community.
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
Sometimes I am not motivated to do my skill or even volunteering but I am aware how important it is. I push very hard to obtain many hours a week for my award!
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
I am now in love with hiking and canoeing that I did for my expeditions. I will go hike mountains and go camping on my own time or with my friends outside of the award.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
This was one of my expeditions for my silver star level. This picture shows a big group of cadets that were all selected to do a national award. This picture shows the near end of our expedition and we were all burnt out after a 94km bike ride and white water rafting. At the end of the day we all decided to have a fire and we ate some real food for the first time, pizza!!!! We took this picture to remember how hard we worked in order to still have a good time. We were happy to all be together enjoy a nice warm fire! This was my favourite expedition I have ever done and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
