Nishta Naicker
Award Level:
Bronze
Favourite memory of the Award:
One of my favourite memories was collecting and sorting teddy bears for the Teddy-up drive for my service. I got to spend time with both my friends and family and meet new people. It taught me so many values, such as teamwork, time management, and respect. It was so fulfilling to see the joy on the children’s faces when we distributed the teddy bears.
Age:
14
Biggest challenge from doing the Award:
The Adventurous Journey. I feel like I was not prepared enough. The terrain was challenging to tread on, as I was not use to the steep uphill and downhills.
Country:
South Africa
Have you continued any of your Award activities? If so, what:
Yes, dance and piano lessons. I have such a passion for music and when I started these lessons for the president's award, I realised that I enjoy it and want to continue learning.
Tell us the story behind your photo:
During the time of participating in the Teddy-up drive, I had so much fun. The people were amazing and the feeling of helping people in need was incredible. Throughout this drive, we collected over 400 teddy bears. All were donated to various charities. This photo shows how much fun I had during this charity drive.
